Hilary Archer is an illustrator and graphic artist for children and young adults. Her traditional rendering style and whimsical sense of humor are the basis for all of Hilary’s creations, which are suitable for many different genres including children's books, magazines and animated media. A resourceful and intuitive designer, Hilary has adapted her abilities to fit a diverse range of projects from fashion graphics to character design and wedding monograms.
Since receiving her MFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Hilary has freelanced for several non-profit and private organizations while working in-house at companies such as Houghton Mifflin Children's Book Division in Boston, MA and The Carriage Barn Arts Center in New Canaan, CT. While pursuing her education, Hilary spent two semesters in France while completing her cultural studies and studio work; experiences that largely shaped and informed her current style and sensibilities, as seen in her original interpretation of Alphonse Daudet's classical french fairy tale, Mr. Seguin's Goat, now available as an iBook in the Apple Store. Hilary continues to work on new projects, many of which feature animals prominently. These portraits have taken on a life of their own in the form of greetings, prints, magnets, stickers and other fun products for humans and animals of all ages and are now available for purchase in Hilary's shop.
